To stay successful, a company has to constantly refresh – to keep wiggling the boat a little – in order to stay ahead of the competitive game and keep the business growth coming.

The 2004 Lion Nathan annual report focused on the ongoing incremental changes throughout the business that keep Lion Nathan ahead of the game. Examples through the report provide evidence of this continual fine-tuning. The double-digit growth story also was given emphasis.

Tonally, a healthy dose of irreverence and self-deprecating humour helped the ‘infotainment’ aspects of the report to ensure it was an accessible read and reinforce the Lion Nathan corporate brand as ‘making the world a more sociable place.’

One of the consistent year-to-year threads of our Lion Nathan reports was the quality and ‘hyper-real’ nature of the photography. Many of these ‘photos’ are, in fact, illustrations in order to achieve the extraordinary resolution and clarity.
